11 february 2010 - Buenos Aires, końcowy przystanek wahadłowego Tranvia del Est koło ulicy Cordoba - Citadis właśnie zmienił kierunek jazdy i będzie wooolniutko defilował w drugą stronę (pozdro dla miłego motorniczego! :)). Tory tramwajowe zostały odbudowane (w sensie najpewniej zbudowane na starym podtorzu) z torów kolejowych, których jeszcze kilka się w tym miejscu zachowało - łącznie istnieją tam trzy szerokości torów (mierzone na oko): 1435 mm (tramwaj), 1676 mm (tory kolejowe widoczne u dołu zdjęcia) i ~1000 mm (zachowane dwa sploty - krótki i długi - na dwóch torach w okolicy przystanku Corrientes. Nie mam zielonego pojęcia, co tamtędy kursowało... Fotki splotu/-ów będą na części kolejowej). Nieczynne tory 1667 mm (w tym krótkie odcinki ~1000 mm) są zachowane w stanie kompletnym, przydałoby się tylko je popodbijać (rozjazdy, jak widać, także są zachowane). Co ciekawe, kiedyś dotarła tu trakcja elektryczna - pozostały fundamenty słupów z ich kikutami oraz jeden cały dwustronny słup o nieco szubienicznym kształcie, także niedaleko przystanku Corrientes. Natomiast tor położony najbardziej na zachód (od strony parkingu) wygląda na sporadycznie używany - posiada stosunkowo niedawno wytarte rowki przy szynach. Jest tylko trochę... Zalany - albo po ulewie, albo jakaś rura tam pękła (fotki będą na kolejowym TWB). Dla uściślenia - wszystkie tory prowadzą w kierunku dworca głównego Buenos Aires ;) W tle jeden z zabytkowych żurawi Puerto Madero. EDIT: 25.03.2010 - poprawka kolorów i doostrzenie.

12 february 2010 - Buenos Aires, Avenida Alicia Moreau de Justo, na wysokości Avenida Belgrano. Eksperymentalna linia tramwajowa - Tranvia del Est czy jakoś tak... - zaistaniała w stolicy Argentyny w 2007 roku, ponad czterdzieścikilka lat po likwidacji ostatnich linii w centrum (do dzisiaj pozostało trochę starych torowisk, rozet, haków oraz... Smacznych ciastek Tramwajowych "Tranvia"). Liczy tylko cztery przystanki (relacja Cordoba - Independencia), defiluje po niej od 2009 roku (po zwróceniu Miluzie wypożyczonych Citadisów z 2005 roku) ten oto Alstom Citadis, wypożyczony z Madrytu. Niestety nie ma zbyt wielu amatorów takiej podróży... Ale może będzie to początek powrotu typowych tramwajów do centrum Buenos (a to by się naprawdę przydało)?... Niestety byłem zmuszony czasowo "przesiąść się" z Canona na Olympusa S280 (co pewnie widać)... EDIT: 25.03.2010 - poprawka kolorów.

Everything about this system was designed with a single, matching style to complement the trams. Platforms line up with the doors of the tram, so there are no steps to climb.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) - Avenue de Saint-Amand. The old bridge over Valenciennes railway station is one of the few places where the Transvilles line runs in the street, and even here the tracks are separated from other traffic in one direction.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Denain, Rue de Villars. Near the southern end of the line, tracks run in the centre of a local shopping street in a neat reservation. Much use is made of these grass-covered tracks - this is real grass, although from a distance it looks like Astroturf.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Place de la Gare. The very sexy and futuristic trams of the new Transvilles interurban tramway have transformed this old industrial district of northern France. Modern tramways like this are very fashionable in France and many cities have opened new lines in recent years – money does not seem to be a problem. One of the Citadis vehicles glides up to the stop directly outside the main railway station.

2 october 2009 - Vénissieux, Boulevard Lenine. Tramwaj całkowicie odmienił schemat komunikacyjny okolicy. Kawałek dalej była pętla autobusowa na której krańcowało 6 linii. Teraz 2 z nich pocięto i mają pętlę razem z tramwajem (1 km stąd) a pozostałe skasowano lub skrócono.

2 october 2009 - Vénissieux, Avenue Jean Cagne. Otwarta w kwietniu tego roku linia T4 jest najnowszą linią tramwajową we Francji. Nowsze jest tylko przedłużenie o długości 1,5 km linii 1 w Miluzie.

13 june 2009 - Paris, Boulevard Victor. Najnowsza linia tramwajowa T3 prezentuje się wyśmienicie. Francuzi przy okazji tego typu inwestycji zwykli zmieniać nie tylko samą trasę ale i całe jej otoczenie. Pełno więc wokół trawniczków, zmyślnej małej architektury, przystanki mają identyczny wygląd, całość prezentuje się profesjonalnie. I kto powiedział, że słup trakcyjny to musi być betonowy potworek...?

The designers of the Valenciennes tramway seem to have learned from the mistakes of other cities – this line goes exactly where people wish to travel, without fancy subways or stations in the sky. Here, a tram runs directly through the main shopping streets between the railway station and the town hall.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Solange Tonini. More empty fields on the line to Denain. These trams are very smart and were probably built locally – Alstom has a factory in Valenciennes. Like many of the ‘new’ French tramways, the design is stylish and attractive.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Saint Waast. Near the Transvilles depot, a tram to Espace Villars running through a pleasant strip of parkland. The Valenciennes tramway makes extensive use of these grass-filled tracks, which look very nice but obviously need some maintenance – many cities in Poland have grass-filled tracks, too, of course, but these are not quite the same!

13 may 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Le Galibot. Look – no houses! The Valenciennes tramway is a true interurban, linking the city centre with the nearby town of Denain across this empty landscape. Here, there is no tram stop for nearly 2km – who would use it? Maybe a passing cow? Anyway, it makes a nice picture.

13 june 2009 - Valenciennes (FR) – Denain, Espace Villars. Valenciennes trams terminate in the centre of the busy little town of Denain, where there is cross-platform interchange to local bus lines. In former times, Valenciennes had a large, Vicinal-style tram network that ran between several towns in the region, and even reached the Belgian border to connect with their tram lines. I don’t know if the old trams ever came here, though - anyway, they were all gone by the 1960s.

Here in Valenciennes, the single, 28km line runs these silver-grey Alstom trams every few minutes, linking the city centre to the University and other districts. This tram is heading for the University.
