25 june 2010 - Hythe, Hampshire – Hythe Pier Tramway. The spare locomotive outside the workshops. Brutally simple in design – the driver sits over the motor and must be careful not to get his legs caught up in that nasty-looking chain. When pushing towards the pier head, the driver starts the locomotive, then gets out and walks alongside to the control trailer at the other end, where he releases the handbrake and the train moves off. One day, he may get this wrong and everyone takes a swim!
