What type of gearbox does it have? Manual ZF S6-85, JaMZ or any automatic?
Gearbox is manual, YaMZ-2361. That's buses on most cheaper equipment, engine is YaMZ too :(
Why are you sad, YaMZ does crappy job?
I think that the manual gearbox is kinda attractive these days, in most of modern buses producers install automatic gearboxes, even in intercity coaches.
Yes, YaMZ, in my opinion, one of the worst Russian engines, mainly because of the low quality of the assembly and components, and the same for gearbox. Russians buy buses with manual gearbox only because of lack of money or ability to service.
Latest YaMZ heavier than previous models, so all LiAZ'es with this engine (model year 2007-2010) sags body behind the rear axle (buses from 2010 haven't such problem). That's most well-known incident, repairs done LiAZ: http://fotobus.msk.ru/photo/351243/
LiAZ'es with other engines (KamAZ, Cummins, Caterpiller) haven't that problem with body.
Wow, what a mess! Even our Jelcz PR110 buses, which have heavy engines (SW680 with cast iron engine block), didn't sag so much. o_O Now I understand what makes them so shitty. Thanks for explanation
