30 may 2006 - Riga, Latvia/Latvija – Krisjana Barona Iela. The Riga tramway system displays many signs of its Russian heritage – broad gauge, trolley poles, one-ride paper tickets issued by a conductor on each tram and a numbering system where the first digit represents the ‘owning’ depot (in this case Depot V). To confuse matters, this tram was numbered 4-2315 when previously operated by Depot IV. Most Riga trams run as coupled pairs. I think this nice building is the National Theatre (but may be quite wrong!).
