Other Information | Stagecoach`s West Scotland, generally known as Stagecoach Western was formed in July 1994 with the purchase of Western Scottish Omnibuses. Western Scottish had been purchased by its employees and management in 1991 from the Scottish Bus Group. In October 1994 they bought Arran Transport, Brodick and in January 1995 took over A1 Services, Ardrossan. A1 Services were kept as a separate company for some time before becoming absorbed into Stagecoach West Scotland. The bus operations of Dodd`s of Troon, which traded as AA Buses, were purchased in mid 1997. At a similar time they took over Shuttle Buses of Kilwinning. Depots: - Ardrossan - Ayr - Brodick (Isle of Arran) - Cumbernauld - Dumfries - Glasgow - Kilmarnock There are also outstations in Muirkirk, Kirkcudbright, Sanquhar, Biggar, Stranraer and Whithorn. |
