1950 - Cleveland, Ohio (USA). A real oddity from Cleveland Transit in America, although built by the German manufacturer Orenstein and Koppel. The Americans called these ‘dump cars’, which clearly explains their purpose. As we say in England, it does exactly what it says on the tin. This one is recorded as being scrapped in 1951, so the photo must be quite old. Cleveland Transit operated one of those vast American city tramways that closed down in the 1950s and 1960s.
