27 january 2009 - Redhill, Surrey, UK – Station Road East. Even though the district where I live is only 30km from central London, rural buses are essential. The local council operates these ‘Buses4U’, a demand-responsive service that will collect and deliver you from home at any reasonable time. The buses have a wheelchair lift and are very popular with old people – just a phone call makes a booking and the bus will take you to the town centre.
