21 september 2013 - Essen, Germany - betriebshof/zajedznia: One of the Essen works cars or arbeitswagen is this late 1940s Aufbauwagen which has carried a number of different fleet numbers and is now #615.

don`t confuse KSW and Aufbauwagen. KSW (wartime austerity tram) were all built new during the war. Aufbauwagen were rebuilt cars using modern bodies on old chassis after the war. The same bodies were used on Verbandswagen (but with new chassis). So 615 is an Aufbauwagen. KSW = three windows in the middle and one-piece doors (each end with one large platform window) ... all roughly the same size
