1 may 2011 - Redhill, Surrey (GB) – Brighton Road. A beautiful Leyland Cheetah (not one of the more common Leyland types) of 1939, which carries this equally unusual blue livery. I struggle to think of another company that uses this colour for its buses and coaches – who else knows of one?

Why is the body curved at rear side? What kind of lever is there on the front, under radiator?

The body style is a bit unusual - look at other pictures of this bus. The 'flared' lower panels is part of this design.

The lever under the radiator is the starting handle for the engine, of course - all old vehicles had these before the days of electric starting!
