Przy większości przystanków tramwajowych mieści się pętla autobusowa i/lub parking P+R. Nie jest to wcale takie oczywiste w USA - są miasta, gdzie równolegle do tras szynowych jeżdżą autobusy - w myśl zasady, że każdy rejon miasta powinien mieć bezpośredni dojazd do centrum.
