Maybe - and Germans love to go, because all their old trams are there. Also, a nice city
Maybe they'll start to appreciate Lviv I prefer ukrainian cities It's much easier to communicate over there for me.
Of course - easy for you, but very hard for me! Magyar is the hardest for everyone, of course Romanian language is actually very easy if you speak English.
Have you seen Monty Python's skit about the Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook? But there are some freaks from Western Europe that travel to the former USSR. I was very surprised to hear German spoken in the corridor of the train from Kyiv to Warsaw. I was even more surprised when I saw the guy photographing the train through the window. He had been spending his journey with a mate from Portugal, but I wasn't brave enough to introduce myself as a transport fan
I think all true transport fans can communicate without too much difficulty In Estonia (another horrible language) and Latvia I quickly found new friends - and in Poland, of course. OK, you make a fool of yourself with the language - "my hovercraft is full of eels" - but always have some tram photos in your pocket to show people - this works every time!
