28 february 2009 - Wuppertal, Sonnborner Strasse. Yeah, I`m really sorry for all the cars in the shot, but hell - couldn`t have done it any other way :P Train no. 12 on run no. 12 has almost reached the Vohwinkel loop. Most of the Schwebebahn route runs over the river Wupper - only the last few stations in the west of the city are above a street.

2 may 2011 - Wuppertal, SonnbornerStraße. Latająco-jeżdżący pojazd komunikacji miejskiej właśnie przeleciał nad autostrada. Po przejechaniu (przeleceniu?) kilku przystanków stwierdziłem, że jest to super rozwiązanie. Może i troche buja (a zwłaszcza jak prowadzący szybko wlatuje w łuki) można się przyzwyczaić.

28 september 2014 - Wuppertal, Bundesallee. W 2011 roku WSW zamówiło w firmie Vossloh Kiepe 31 nowych wagonów dla wiszącej kolejki. Zadanie to okazało się bardziej skomplikowane niż wcześniej przypuszczano i terminy dostawy wciąż się odwlekają. Aktualnie mówi się o egzemplarzu testowym na jesieni 2015 roku.

8 august 2007 - Wuppertal, Kaiserstraße. Moje drugie podejscie do tejze kolejki podwieszanej - gdy bylem tam za pierwszym razem trafilem na wakacyjna przerwe w kursowaniu. Dzis jezdzila, ale... do czasu. Gdy wracalem, nagle z powodu jakiejs awarii (prawdopodobnie jakis sklad sie zepsul) pociagi stanely - na szczescie na stacji. Jednak bylem na drugim koncu miasta, bez zadnego planu. Poszedlam wiec (jak i z reszta wszyscy z mojego pociagu) na autobus - jedna z linii na szczesie pokrywala sie z grubsza z trasa kolejki. Autobus (Merc 530G) zapelnil sie blyskawicznie po brzegi - kierowca nie mogl zamnknac drzwi. Na nastepnych przystankach pasazerownie z innach skladow juz sie nie miescili w autobusie. Potrafilo zostac nawet 20 osob... Oczywisciel, jakoby trasy pokrywaly sie tylko ``z grubsza``, przegapilem przystanek na ktorym mialem wysiasc (choc w sumie to nie za bardzo wiedzialem, gdzie mam wysiasc...) i pojechalem 3 przystanki za daleko. Tylko jakims cudem, po 20-minutowym ``spacerku`` przy mocno padajacym deszczu, udalo mi sie trafic z powrotem do Oberbarmen... Moja noga juz wiecej w tym miescie nie postanie :P
A swoja droga, ciekawe widoki maja za oknem mieszkancy tej ulicy :)

Trudno sobie wyobrazić lepszy sposób promocji komunikacji zbiorowej niż kolejka "przelatująca" nad ludźmi stojącymi w korku lub toczącymi się po zatłoczonej ulicy.

15 march 2009 - Wuppertal, w pobliżu stacji Loher Brücke. Około 75% trasy Schwebe przebiega nad rzeką Wupper. Linia ma długość 13,3km w jedną stronę, po drodze zatrzymuje się na 20 przystankach. Kolejka podwieszona jest przeciętnie na 15m nad ziemią i 160 m nad poziomem morza, a porusza się ze średnią prędkością 26,6 km/h. Ogólnie bajera! ;)

16 march 2009 - Wuppertal, w pobliżu stacji Alter Markt. Krótki odcinek, na którym wymieniono podpory na nowe. Stało się to przy okazji budowy centrum handlowego tuż obok, z którym zresztą stacja Alter Markt jest zintegrowana.

28 july 2015 - Wuppertal, odc. Pestalozzistraße - Robert-Daum-Platz. Ostatni poważny incydent na tej linii wydarzył się 17 października 2013 r., kiedy 260 metrów szyny zasilającej spadło do rzeki Wupper i na drogę nr 7 uszkadzając kilka samochodów. Na pechowy odcinek wjechał tytułowy wagon i zatrzymał się tuż nad rzeką. Uwięzionych 76 pasażerów ewakuowała straż pożarna.

15 august 2017 - Wuppertal, Varresbecker Straße. Kolejka osiąga maksymalną prędkość w okolicach 40 km/h. Odcinek długości 13 km z dwudziestoma przystankami handlowymi po drodze pokonuje w ok. 30 minut.

19 september 2013 - Wuppertal, Germany - Vohwinkel: Under the massive Schwebebahn structure at Kaiserplatz in Central Vohwinkel, car #24 is just leaving on a trip to Oberbarmen. Drivers of other vehicles are totally unaware of what is happening just above their heads, which is one of the major advantages of the Schwebebahn - nothing holds up the service.

28 february 2009 - Wuppertal, next to Landgericht station. The cars of the railway like to swing a lot in corners. Fortunately, this is one of the safest railway systems in the world - the only fatal accident since the railway opened in 1901 happened in 1999 when a train derailed on a piece of scaffolding left by track workers and plunged into the river below.

15 august 2017 - Wuppertal, odcinek Westende - Pestalozzi Straße. Rollercoaster wygina się na jednym z zakrętów. Co ciekawe, między stacjami Westende i ZOO/Stadion kolejka przejeżdża przez środek fabryki Bayera, fajne industrialne klimaty, ale niedostępne z poziomu gruntu.

19 september 2013 - Wuppertal, Germany - Westende: One of the iconic Schwebebahn monorail cars on its journey to Vohwinkel, along its track spanning the River Wupper. When the line was proposed, this was the only place left in this narrow valley, already filled with railways, roads and industry, for the line to be built, so it was suspended over the water for most of the route. Wuppertal also had trams of two gauges and a funicular, but these have all gone now - you can still see trolleybuses at Vohwinkel, however.

19 september 2013 - Wuppertal, Germany - Sonnborner Strasse: Car #9 of the Schwebebahn just hanging around over one of the main streets in the Wupper valley. These vehicles have now nearly all been replaced by a brand new design. Note the massive support beams and overhead tracks needed to carry the line above the other traffic.
