15 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Shevchenko tramway depot: The very last snow tram I will inflict upon you from this trip to Belarus and Ukraine is this one parked in the depot serving Kiev`s fast tram section. Again, a standard type supplied in the days of Soviet management.

15 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tram depot: Fleet number C-11 is a standard Soviet-type snow clearing vehicle, fitted in this case with a plough. Much of the track on the Kiev system is laid in the street, apart from a couple of lines on this side of the system, one which has recently been reconstructed as a fast, fully-segregated route and the other, which wanders for a very long distance into a forest to the north of the city.

15 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tram depot: A quick look at the various snow clearing trams at the Podilske depot which serves the west bank of the Kiev network. As the lines here are nearly all in the street, quite a large fleet is used to keep the tracks clear during the winter.

7 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Darnitska tramway depot: This snow clearing machine lives on the east side tramway system in Kiev city and is shown here parked in part of the old Darnitska depot. There were several other treasures here, including a line of unusual vehicles in the adjacent track work depot, but a `jobsworth` security guard would not allow me anywhere near them, so they will have to wait until another time.

15 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Shevchenko tramway depot: The fact that this snow broom is numbered C-23 points to there having once been lots and lots of these snow clearers in the Kiev fleet. Because Ukraine has hard weather and this system has much track laid in the street, no doubt these come out onto the lines quite often in the winter months.

15 september 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tram depot: The last of five snow clearing trams at the Podilske depot is this snow broom #C-11, which has slightly different bodywork than the others already shown. All these vehicles are of two or three standard types seen thoughout the former Soviet Union.
